Dewberry Farm
We went to Dewberry Farm the other day with my mom's group. We had a good time, despite Ethan's bad mood and eventually he got over it and ended up having fun too. :) We did a hayride and the boys got to pick out their very own (small) pumpkins to take home. I didn't do too well in the picture-taking department. Trying to keep up with Mason is a feat in itself! He is a wild man!
Check out last year's post when we went: here Definitely a must-see every October! :)
Ethan and Carter-silly friends
here Ethan was throwing a fit about who knows what. I didn't get a good pic of adorable Lainey! :(

It's FALL, Yall
Seriously, where did September go?!? I'm not complaining though because I LOVE fall and the cooler temperatures and the excitement of all the holidays right around the corner. We have been telling Ethan that Halloween is getting close and he says, "Yeah, Halloween is on its way to Texas"! I guess Halloween lives elsewhere throughout the year. :)
Mason is 16 months already. He really is becoming more and more of a little boy and less like a baby everyday. Makes me happy and sad at the same time. Just for the sake of posterity here are the words he says: EAT-his FAVORITE. Kid can eat. Complete opposite of his picky eater brother.
Go, Daddy, Poppy, out, ball, hot (another favorite), hat, cheese, cookie, Mommy (doesn't say it often enough for my liking), bye-bye, cold, hi, bumblebee, tee-tee (watches his brother go, so maybe he will potty train easier and faster?), help, night-night, and book.
And I can't believe Ethan is going on 4 years old. How can that be? He is SO funny and likes to make people laugh. Love him SO much. We started soccer and his first game will be Saturday. Excited to see how he will do. He seems upset because "the other kids will try to swipe (can you tell we watch Dora?) the ball from me"! He doesn't quite get the "game" concept yet.
Here are a bunch of recent pictures of my loves.
Daddy dressed him and didn't realize he had on 2 different shoes!
activity from Pinterest. Fun, but whoever said this occupied their 3 year old for 2 hours was LYING
Mason trying his hand at ski-ball at Chuck E. Cheese
fun at the park
gotta love the iPad for doctor visits. Here he was covered in a rash (can't really tell from the pic)...turned out he is allergic to certain medicines!
Ethan in his new Thomas shirt
riding the train at the mall
Mason loves to cuddle with blankets!
The boys got their passports! We are going to Grand Cayman with Jake's family in June 2013!
cake face!
playing in the backyard
we took Ethan to see Finding Nemo in 3D!

Time for School!
Sadly, preschool started over a month ago and I am just now getting around to blogging about it. Ah well.
We have the boys at a wonderful preschool just south of Katy in Richmond called Faith School for Young Children. Ethan attended last year and we were just so impressed with it. They go on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-2. Perfect break for Mommy but I also have lots of time with them at home to go on playdates, etc.
This year, Ethan is in the 3's Zebra Class with Ms. Megan and Ms. Dawn. He asked about school a lot over the summer...and by a lot, I mean, almost every day. I just kept telling him that all the teachers were on vacation and that he would start soon. On Meet the Teacher day, he was very confused why he wasn't in the same classroom as last year and why he didn't have the same teachers, even though I had been preparing him for that over the summer. But he loves it just as much and has a lot of the same friends in his class.
Mason was a different story. He is right in the middle of the stranger anxiety phase (Ethan went through it too at this age) plus he's just not used to being dropped off like Ethan was since I worked when Ethan was 5 months to age 2. He cries and cries when we drop him off at the nursery at church, though he is getting better at that. I knew that school was going to be a tough transition on him. Mason is in the toddler class with Ms. Dawn (the most adorable British lady EVER) and Ms. Christy. He did ok at Meet the Teacher, even when I was bouncing back and forth between the boys' classrooms. But he was NOT ok on the first day. I had Jake come with me that day since I had all the boys' school supplies to carry and he wanted to meet their teachers too. We dropped him off and quickly left since I did not want to prolong the 'goodbye' event. We could hear him SCREAMING even as we walked to the car. Broke my heart. But we were reassured that it was normal and that he would get used to it. Now, a month into it, he practically leaps out of my arms to RUN into his classroom. Definitely an answer to this momma's prayers!
Here are a few pics from Meet the Teacher, First Day, and Grandparents' Day last week:
First Day! Daddy was taking the picture...wish we would have gotten one of all 4 of us...
