Ethan's Christmas Update

Hello all. Mommy and Daddy say that it's my turn to update the blog. Let's see.....I had my first Christmas and it was so fun! I wasn't quite sure how to open the presents but I love playing with all my new toys! I got to spend time with Nonnie and Pop and Uncle Andy. I also got to spend time with my Grandma and Grandpa, my counsins Casey and Ava, and my Uncle Seth and Uncle Matt.

In other news, I am 9 1/2 months old. I have 2 bottom teeth and I love to crawl all around the house. I am close to walking; I love to stand while holding on to the furniture. I can wave and dance when Mommy and Daddy ask me to - they think it's so cute! I went to see the doctor for my 9 month check-up the other day. No shots this time - yay! She said I am a very healthy boy. I am 19.5 pounds (30th percentile) and 29 inches long (75 percentile). I am looking forward to my first birthday in March - maybe I will be able to open presents by then.

Christmas 2009

Denver Trip

A few weeks ago, Jake and I took a little weekend trip to Denver to visit our friends Page and Reagan. The day we left was the big Snow Day in Houston so we were a little disappointed that we missed it, but luckily we got plenty while we were there! We ended up not taking Ethan (the thought of schlepping the stroller, car seat, bottles, diapers, etc...) made me nauseous, so he stayed with Jake's parents for the weekend. I think it was a good idea because it was SO COLD and the altitude was even getting to me and Jake so we can't imagine how Ethan would have done.

We had a great time! The boys went skiing in Breckenridge while Page and I hit up the outlet malls to do a little Christmas shopping. Here are a few pics from our trip:

Christmas Card Sneak-Peak

Jake and I thought we'd try to take a few shots for our Christmas card - so we got Ethan in front of the tree the other day with a few ornaments and viola! :) Not professional but still cute.
Here are a few of my favorites. Gotta love the drool on the first one!! Ethan's first tooth finally poked through last week (bottom right) and its neighbor is not far behind so he's drooling like crazy!

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

Ethan is trouble these days! He's into everything, including crawling up the stairs and pulling all the ornaments off the Christmas tree... But he's also so much fun!! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving too. Ethan ate some bread, stuffing, and sweet potatoes!

Lately...

We've been pretty busy these days!

Ethan is about 7 1/2 months and ALL over the place. He has mastered the army crawl and getting better at real crawling every day. He is starting to pull up on things to stand; his personal favorite is to stand up in his crib.

He still doesn't have any teeth so I hope they make an appearance soon; he's been very cranky lately.

We've gotten to spend time with good friends. We threw Page and Reagan a going away party last weekend; they are moving to Denver at the end of October. We are going to miss them!!! Good thing we already have a trip planned in December to visit.

Ethan has gotten to spend time with his little buddy Ryder too. Once he gets a little bigger, they can play together.

Every morning, Ethan is mesmorized by Micky Mouse! We plop him on our bed surrounded by pillows so he can watch while we get ready for work.

Mexico Trip!

Here are a few highlights from our trip to Playa del Carmen last weekend. Blogger only allows me to upload 5 pictures at a time -anyone know how to change this so that I can do more?? I also posted all of them on facebook...


Anyway, here goes. We had a blast - got to go ziplining through the jungle, repelling, and snorkling in the cenotes (underwater caves). We also got to visit some of the Mayan ruins in Tulum. We had a great time relaxing and being baby-free but we sure did miss our little guy a
lot.

First Haircut!

Ethan's hair was getting a bit shaggy around the ears so we decided to get it cut today. Daddy was complaining that he was beginning to look like a hippy!

Jake and I got back from Mexico this morning and had a B-L-A-S-T! I will post pictures later this week - too tired. :)

6 Months

Ethan is such a bog boy! He can sit all by himself and he creeps anywhere he wants to go. He can't quite crawl yet but I imagine that's coming in the next week or so. His personality is really coming through - I love seeing him interact with us and with the world. He's so much fun!

Jake put together his high chair over the weekend and he loved sitting in it.

We also got his Halloween costume the other day - he is going to be SO CUTE! I tried it on him today and it is so adorable - I am tempted to leave some pics, but I want it to be a surprise. :)
