Belly Blues

So I sort of miss being pregnant, as crazy as that sounds!! I went to my OB for my 6-week check up last week and got to see all the pregnant girls in the office and couldn't help but miss my big round belly. I miss feeling my baby move and kick. I miss getting to eat whatever I wanted...paying for it now though....

However, I love sleeping on my stomach again. I love drinking diet coke again! I love being able to see my feet and tie my shoes without assistance.

But even more than all of those things, I am SO in love with my sweet baby Ethan. I can't believe he will be 2 months old next week. Jake and I can't imagine our life without him now. Here are a few pics (2 months, 4 months, 7 months, 9 months, and my baby boy).

New School

I will be moving to the brand new school (Stanley Elementary) starting in August to teach third grade! It is SO MUCH closer to our house which will be nice.

The other day all the team leaders got to tour the new building which obviously isn't completed yet. We all got to choose our classrooms and sign the wall! It was really cool. We also got to meet Mr. Stanley, our school's namesake.

Twinkies!

My good friend Christie and I got together today with our boys. Sam was born 3 days after Ethan at the same hospital. Christie and I have been friends since our freshman year at A&M so it's been fun going through life changes together. We are both on maternity leave from our teaching jobs so it's been nice having another mommy to hang out with.
Check out these cute pics of Ethan and Sam wearing their matching baseball outfits! At one point, Ethan tried latching on to Sam's face to nurse...we were cracking up! :)

Just Some Pics!

Ethan's First Easter

Ethan had a great time! We went to Grandma and Grandpa's for breakfast and Nonnie and PopPop's for lunch. Ethan got to watch Casey hunt for Easter eggs too! Next year he will get to join in on the fun. Uncle Seth got him a new fun play mat which he really liked!

Cousin Casey

Ethan's cousin Casey has enjoyed getting to know him! She likes it when he holds her hand and when she gets to hold him on her lap. She will be a good friend!

Ethan's Friends

Ethan has made lots of new friends so far! His friend Evan came over to play and Aiden came over during Spring Break. He wasn't very happy either time. And he got to hang out with Sam a few days ago but Mommy forgot to take pictures.

First Bath!!

Ethan's umbilical cord stump finally fell off so we were able to give him his first real bath. He was a little unsure about the whole thing but after a few minutes he seemed to like it. He HATED getting sponge baths so it was a nice change of pace from all that crying.

Life with a New Baby

Jake was able to take a week off from work which was nice because it gave us time to figure it all out. It took a few days before we could tell why Ethan would cry. The first few nights were the worst but it got better and Ethan is pretty much on a routine now. His life consists of eating, staying up for a few minutes to look around, pooping, and sleeping - which he gets from his Mama because he's pretty darn good at it.

Jake is back to work now so we get to spend lots of quality time together. I'm getting a little stir crazy in the house all day long but I try to get out every day for a walk or jog. We took Ethan for his 2-week check up and he's already up to 7 pounds, 7 ounces and has grown 2 inches! We have a growing boy on our hands.

Home from the hospital

We got to come home 2 days after Ethan was born. We were a little nervous since we knew there would be no nurses to help us but luckily we have both families close by. It was a cold and rainy day so we had to make sure Ethan was bundled up! Jake drove very slowly all the way home and Mommy sat in the backseat to make sure Ethan was ok. We are such new parents!

We had been home about 5 minutes when the hospital called and said that our pediatrician never discharged the baby...yikes! So we had to pack him back up in his carseat and drive to the doctor so she could check him out. We were exhausted! Over the next few days, we had lots of visitors to see Baby Ethan and to drop off food for us (which was awesome since we did NOT feel up to cooking).

Ethan Thomas Gobar Arrives!

...after 9 months of waiting and preparing, our precious baby boy has arrived! Ethan was born on March 10th at 5:25 pm, weighing 6 pounds, 14 ounces. It was a long 12 hours of labor and Mommy couldn't have done it without the help of the epidural! It was such an emotional day and Jake and I are thrilled to be parents!
