Christmas 2010
Christmas is so much fun when you get to experience it through the eyes of your child. Getting to see the excitement on Ethan's face was priceless!

Naughty or Nice?
Lately, it has become very evident that our little guy is almost 2. Lots of tantrums when things don't go his way. And hitting and even, yikes-biting!!! :( We are working on those things a lot at home. But most of the time, Ethan is the sweetest little guy. We are having so much fun with him at this age! :)
So sweet!

New Car!
We've been wanting a new car for a while-but it's been so nice having both of our cars paid off so we kept waiting. We decided to go look yesterday-just to see what was out there and the deals they had going on. We left Ethan with my parents but told them we would be back soon. We test drove several cars and were going to leave with a good idea of what we wanted. Jake told the salesman that we would be back unless they could give us a good deal. I am so proud of him-he negotiated VERY well and got us a great deal. :) He told me to be quiet while he did all the talking. So HOURS later, we came home with a 2011 GMC Acadia-we love it! It has a third row of seats in the back-the extra room will be great with 2 car seats soon!

Sick Day
Mommy had to stay home today because Ethan has yet another ear infection (both ears) and an eye infection on top of that! :( His Dr. said we may need to start thinking about tubes in his ears if they don't clear up soon.
Even though my little man is not feeling well, it has been really nice to stay home with him today. Usually when I pick him up from school, we go home, eat dinner, take a bath, and he goes to bed. Not very much quality time. The weekends are spent running endless errands, grocery shopping, grading papers, and doing laundry so it always feels rushed and there's never enough time with Ethan.
Today we have:

and took a loooong nap (Mommy too)!
I love you so much, sweet Ethan. I enjoyed our day today. I hope you feel better soon.

Ethan's Acting Debut
Ethan's school had their Thanksgiving Play today-it was the cutest thing ever! Each class was a different type of food and Ethan's class happened to be ears of corn. We had to go out and buy him a yellow shirt for the occasion and his teacher told me they have been practicing for a few weeks. The only line they had was at the end when they said, "thank you". He wasn't very happy-I think because he saw us in the crowd but couldn't come sit with us. We were very proud of our little ear of corn!

First Zoo Trip!
We went with our friends Kelly and Adam, and their little boy, Aiden. What a great day-the weather was perfect!! Ethan had such a great time running around and seeing all the animals. We will definitely have to go back soon now that the weather is so nice. A few of Ethan's favorites were the "phants" (elephants), the cats (cougars and leopards), and the otters. He got to brush the goats in the petting zoo too! He took his first carousel ride-a little scared but he did fine.
At around noon Ethan was starting to melt down (due to the time change, he was already off schedule a little bit) so we left to let him take a nap. On our way out, Ethan yelled, "Bye-bye, zoo!"
Ethan, it's this way!
Ummmm, Daddy, don't let me fall!

Trick or Treat!
We had such a great time trick-or-treating with Ethan last night! At first, he wasn't quite sure what to do but figured out that he got treats after each house. He ran away screaming and laughing each time-it was so funny! We went around Grandma and Grandpa's neighborhood with his cousins-what great memories!

Are you sure about this, Mom?
Needed to get a pic with the hat-he wouldn't leave it on!! :(

Lately....
Things are trucking right along. I can't believe it will be October in just a few days! Our newest niece, Jamey Marie Gobar, was born on September 18th. Ethan was very intrigued by her-kept pointing to her and saying, "Baby"-pretty cute!
We've been taking E to the park a lot on the weekends to feed the duckies and to play on the playground. He gets restless around the house so that seems to keep him occupied and also wears him out so he takes a great nap too!
Here are a few recent pictures.

Going down the slide at the park.
Watching cartoons in the hotel in San Antonio a few weekends ago.

18 Months!
I can't believe my "baby" is already a year and a half. Things are going well-slowly getting into a routine again now that school has started. Ethan is at a new school (Imagination Campus) and we LOVE it! He is learning so much and getting so much out of it. He gets to have art and music every day, plus time in the gym too. He is having an easier time saying "bye-bye" to Mommy when I drop him off now.
He is using a lot more words to communicate to us and he can locate different parts of his face and body when asked. He also knows several colors-blue, yellow, green, and red. He is at such a fun age!!!
Here are some recent pics. We let Ethan and his cousin, Ava, roam free in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard last weekend-they loved it!
Ethan loves going up the stairs-while Mommy or Daddy chases him.

Children's Museum
Jake and I took Ethan to the Children's Museum on Friday. He had a BLAST! It was so fun to watch him run around having a great time. Too bad summer is almost over!!! :(
This blue truck was his FAV!
Girls' Weekend!
I went with my girls to Denver a few weekends ago to visit our friend, Page. We had such a great time-Page was the best hostess! It was so nice to be baby-free and be waited on ! No cooking, cleaning, diaper changes, etc.
We had a great time-a picnic lunch and hiking in the mountains (fun, despite my altitude-sickness), a tour of the Coors Factory, and lots of fun going out to eat and lounging around.
Thanks for having us, Page! And thanks to my wonderful hubby for letting me go and staying with Ethan.
