Sick Day

Mommy had to stay home today because Ethan has yet another ear infection (both ears) and an eye infection on top of that! :( His Dr. said we may need to start thinking about tubes in his ears if they don't clear up soon.

Even though my little man is not feeling well, it has been really nice to stay home with him today. Usually when I pick him up from school, we go home, eat dinner, take a bath, and he goes to bed. Not very much quality time. The weekends are spent running endless errands, grocery shopping, grading papers, and doing laundry so it always feels rushed and there's never enough time with Ethan.

Today we have:

snuggled and watched cartoons on the couch,

ate yummy Chick Fil-A,

read some books,

and took a loooong nap (Mommy too)!

I love you so much, sweet Ethan. I enjoyed our day today. I hope you feel better soon.

Ethan's Acting Debut

Ethan's school had their Thanksgiving Play today-it was the cutest thing ever! Each class was a different type of food and Ethan's class happened to be ears of corn. We had to go out and buy him a yellow shirt for the occasion and his teacher told me they have been practicing for a few weeks. The only line they had was at the end when they said, "thank you". He wasn't very happy-I think because he saw us in the crowd but couldn't come sit with us. We were very proud of our little ear of corn!

First Zoo Trip!

We went with our friends Kelly and Adam, and their little boy, Aiden. What a great day-the weather was perfect!! Ethan had such a great time running around and seeing all the animals. We will definitely have to go back soon now that the weather is so nice. A few of Ethan's favorites were the "phants" (elephants), the cats (cougars and leopards), and the otters. He got to brush the goats in the petting zoo too! He took his first carousel ride-a little scared but he did fine.

At around noon Ethan was starting to melt down (due to the time change, he was already off schedule a little bit) so we left to let him take a nap. On our way out, Ethan yelled, "Bye-bye, zoo!"

Ethan, it's this way!
Ummmm, Daddy, don't let me fall!

Nice goat....

Trick or Treat!

We had such a great time trick-or-treating with Ethan last night! At first, he wasn't quite sure what to do but figured out that he got treats after each house. He ran away screaming and laughing each time-it was so funny! We went around Grandma and Grandpa's neighborhood with his cousins-what great memories!
Are you sure about this, Mom?
Needed to get a pic with the hat-he wouldn't leave it on!! :(

What could be better than a snack, milk, and Yo Gabba Gabba?

Lately....

Things are trucking right along. I can't believe it will be October in just a few days! Our newest niece, Jamey Marie Gobar, was born on September 18th. Ethan was very intrigued by her-kept pointing to her and saying, "Baby"-pretty cute!

We've been taking E to the park a lot on the weekends to feed the duckies and to play on the playground. He gets restless around the house so that seems to keep him occupied and also wears him out so he takes a great nap too!

Here are a few recent pictures.

A sneak peak at E's Halloween costume-he's going to be a golfer just like Daddy!

18 Months!

I can't believe my "baby" is already a year and a half. Things are going well-slowly getting into a routine again now that school has started. Ethan is at a new school (Imagination Campus) and we LOVE it! He is learning so much and getting so much out of it. He gets to have art and music every day, plus time in the gym too. He is having an easier time saying "bye-bye" to Mommy when I drop him off now.

He is using a lot more words to communicate to us and he can locate different parts of his face and body when asked. He also knows several colors-blue, yellow, green, and red. He is at such a fun age!!!

Here are some recent pics. We let Ethan and his cousin, Ava, roam free in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard last weekend-they loved it!

Ethan loves going up the stairs-while Mommy or Daddy chases him.
